MATERIALS TESTING LAB

Gives an insight in to aspects of materials testing and shapes an engineer's perspective on the functional properties of materials. Facilities include UTM's (100&60 tonnes),spring testers,machinefor testing hardness, flexibility, impact penetration analysis and the like.

SURVEY LAB

Covers the odolitic,Tacheometric,chain,compassand rivers survey methods using precision levels,micro-optic and electronic Theodolites with extensive field work both within and outside the campus.

GEOTECHONOLOGY LAB

Concentrates on foundation engineering with emphasis on soil sampling and site investigation, using equipments like direct and triaxial shear apparatus, consolidometer ,plate load testing , unconfined compression testing machine etc.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING LAB

With specialized facilities like seive analysis, california bearing ratio apparatus, los angles abration test apparatus.Impact test machine and various tests on bitumen, the focus is on pavement design of highway and runways.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LAB

primarily deals with physical, chemical and bacteriological analysis of portable water and sewage .The lab maintains equipments like microprocessor based gas chromatograph, BOD incubator, refridgerator centrifuge,turbidity meter etc.

COMPUTER LAB

The departmental computer lab is equipped with new generation PCs and accessories like printers, scanners..etc .This computer lab helps students co-ordinating their studies with the latest trends in software field and developing skills which are nowadays essential for the industry.

As a body promoting extra-curricular activities and industrial interactions, the Mechanical Engineering Association plays a guiding role for the students of this department. Though reconsituted every year, its objective remains to keep the students abreast of the latest innovations in the industry. The Association has been conducting a variety of programmes like exhibitions, group interactions and live workshops.
