Non-Destructive Laboratories use specialized equipment to perform non-destructive testing on materials and structures without altering or damaging them. This Lab is essential for assessing the quality, safety, and integrity of buildings, infrastructure, and other structures using specialized equipment to perform non-destructive testing.
Some of the major equipment used in these laboratories include the Rebound Hammer, which measures the strength and hardness of materials by striking them with a spring-loaded hammer and measuring the rebound. Rebar Locators are used to detect the location and depth of reinforcing steel bars (rebars) in concrete structures, while Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) equipment uses ultrasonic waves to measure the density, elasticity, and other physical properties of a material.
