Industrial Visits


An industrial visit was conducted by the Sixth Semester B-Tech Computer Science and Engineering students from 27th to 29th January, 2016. This industrial visit was funded by DTE and TEQIP II, GCEK. The visit team included 67 students and 3 faculties.


Visit to TCS Campus


We had visited TCS Campus, Trivandrum as part of the industrial visit. The following sessions were held as a part of this visit.

Session 1: A brief introductory session about the organization and career opportunities.

Session 2: A session on Software engineering. The important aspects of software engineering namely Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), software paradigms and the importance of the recent significance of agile development model were discussed.

Session 3: In this session the latest technological trends were highlighted. The latest technological trends were explained with the help of “Gartner's 2015 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies”.


Visit to UST Global


We had visited UST Global Campus, Bhavani building, Techno park, Trivandrum as part of the industrial visit. The following sessions were held as a part of this visit.

Session 1: A brief introduction about the organization and career opportunities. The need to master some of the important technologies like Java, Ruby on rails, Swift, SQL, PHP and python were emphasized.

The students were given motivation for self learning new technologies and to keep up to date with the latest technological changes in IT. Inputs were given on how to work as an individual and as a team member.

Session 2: It was made as a more informal session with active participation from the students. The students interacted with Mr.Jeljith Narayanan, HR Head, UST Global.

The students were briefed about the HR policies and were explained about other streams of opportunities in the organization apart from the IT stream. Students were given motivation to pursue their interests in arts, sports and other hobbies along with their career. They were explained about the work culture in IT industry.

Session 3: The students were taken around the campus to get a first hand feel of the work environment in an IT organization. A small team activity of forming a logo of the organization was carried out.
